Comparison of Service Designs

The following spreadsheet compares the January and February service designs for all routes modified in this round of changes. It shows scheduled service levels, travel and recovery times, and the number of vehicles assigned.

2026.02.08 Service Changes (corrected version)

5 Eglinton

The TTC has confirmed that Line 5 Eglinton will open for service on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The new route will operate between Mount Dennis Station at Weston Road in the west to Kennedy Station in the east.

Service will operate on 5 Eglinton until 11pm daily expanding to full service in 2Q26 on a date to be announced. Service after 11pm will be provided by a Line 5 shuttle bus running every 10 minutes until the 334 Eglinton Night bus takes over. The shuttle will only stop at LRT stations running in effect as an express service while the 34 Eglinton local bus makes all stops.

The schedule provides 10 minutes of recovery time during off-peak periods per trip, i.e. 5 minutes at each terminal. Peak periods have only 6 minutes per trip. Step-back crewing will be used at both terminals so that trains are not delayed by breaks for operator. Service is crewed from both Eglinton and Mount Dennis divisions.

Many surface routes are affected by the new line and these are shown in the map above. These are grouped below by geographic area across the city.

  • 32 Eglinton West: This route will now originate at Mount Dennis Station, and only the existing Renforth branch will retain the 32 route number.
  • 158 Trethewey: The 32C Trethewey branch will be split off as a separate route 158 originating at Keelesdale Station (Keele Street).
  • 73B Royal York: The Royal York 73B is already operating to Mount Dennis Station and replaces the 32D Emmett branch.
  • 35/27 Jane: The 35 Jane bus route will be broken at Eglinton with the north end retaining route number 35, and the south end becoming the new 27 Jane South. Both routes will run east on Eglinton to Mount Dennis Station.
  • 935 Jane Express: The express service on Jane will continue to run between Jane Station and Steeles, and it will not divert to Mount Dennis Station.
  • 71 Runnymede: This route will now serve Mount Dennis Station.
  • 89/989 Weston Road: The local and express services on Weston Road will divert east on Eglinton to serve Mount Dennis Station.
  • 47 Lansdowne/18 Caledonia: The Lansdowne route will be split at Caledonia Station with the 47 terminating there northbound, and the 18 Caledonia route number and name are resurrected for the northern part of the route.
  • 51 Leslie/56 Leaside: Both the 51 and 56 routes now run west via Eglinton to Eglinton Station. They will be amalgamated removing the service on Eglinton west of Laird Station. The amalgamated 51 route will run from Donlands Station north to Leslie Station on Line 4 at Sheppard. A 51B short turn will serve The Donway loop now served by 162 Lawrence-Donway. Service will operate every 11-12 minutes between Donlands Station and Lawrence, and will split into 12-24 on the 51A and 51B branches to Leslie Station and Don Mills.
  • 151 Leslie North: The 51 route will be replaced north of Sheppard by new route 151 running from Leslie Station to Steeles. Service will operate every 20-25 minutes, 30 in late evenings.
  • 162 Lawrence-Donway: The east end of this route now loops around The Donway, but it will be changed to run to Don Valley Station. Service on The Donway will be provided by 51B Leslie. Service on weekday evenings and all day weekends will be scheduled to stagger departures eastbound from Lawrence Station with 124 Sunnybrook.
  • 54/954 Lawrence East: The 54 service will be removed west of Don Mills and will run south to Don Valley Station. The 954 express service will no longer run to Kennedy Station, but will continue west on Lawrence and south to Don Valley Station. There is no change to 354 Lawrence East night bus which will continue to operate west on Eglinton from Don Mills to Yonge.
  • 91 Woodbine/191 Underhill: The 91 Woodbine will be cut back to end at Lawrence Avenue. Service north to York Mills will be provided by 191 Underhill which will run to Don Valley Station.
  • 34C Eglinton East to Wynford: This service will be discontinued. Service on Linkwood Lane will be provided during peak periods only by the 100B Flemingdon Park route.
  • 100 Flemingdon Park: The existing 100A service between Broadview Station and Flemingdon Park will not change, but buses will serve Don Valley Station. Branch 100B will operate via Linkwood Lane replacing the 34C, but will only run in peak periods.
  • 72C Pape: This route will now serve Don Valley Station.

Crosstown

  • 34 Eglinton: This bus will parallel the 5 Eglinton LRT between Kennedy Station and Mount Dennis. It will run every 20 minutes, although there are plans to widen this to half-hourly later in 2026.
  • 334 Eglinton Blue Night: The 332 and 334 Eglinton West/East night routes will be consolidated as 334. Service will run every 15 minutes between Mount Dennis and Kennedy, every 30 minutes beyond.

Existing Routes Connecting With 5 Eglinton

Many routes were changed in October 2025 to better connect with the future 5 Eglinton.

  • 13 Avenue Road: This route now operates northbound from Chaplin Crescent to Eglinton via Avenue Road to better connect at Avenue Station. Southbound service continues to run via Oriole Parkway.
  • 41/941 Keele: Buses operate through Keelesdale Station northbound. Southbound service uses an on street stop.
  • 74/103 Mt. Pleasant: The service on Mt. Pleasant from St. Clair to Doncliffe Loop was split back into two routes with 74 Mt. Pleasant extended west to Eglinton Station, and 103 Mt. Pleasant North restored from Eglinton Station to Doncliffe.
  • 88 South Leaside: The northern loop via Wicksteed was changed to run via Eglinton between Laird and Brentcliffe to provide a connection with Laird Station.
  • 90 Vaughan: This route was extended north and east to Cedarvale Station, serving Oakwood Station enroute.
  • 161 Rogers Road: The 161 now operates to Mount Dennis Station via Weston Road and Black Creek Drive. The former service on Alliance Avenue was replaced by 171 Mount Dennis.
  • 164 Castlefield: This is a new route serving Cedarvale, Keelesdale and Mount Dennis Stations.
  • 168 Symington: The 168 was extended from Avon Loop to Mount Dennis Station via Weston Road and Black Creek Drive.
  • 171 Mount Dennis: This route was adjusted to serve Mount Dennis Station, and was extended to replace the rerouted 161 Rogers Road service to the Humber Boulevard / Alliance Avenue area.
  • 191 Underhill: This was a new route running from the future Don Valley Station to the north end of the existing 91 Woodbine. The two routes overlapped until February 2026 when the 91 was shortened to end at Lawrence.

Updated February 7 at 7:00am:

Don Valley Station Transfer Connections

Although several bus routes will feed into Don Valley Station, the 25/925 Don Mills services will use an on street transfer thanks to Ontario Line construction. The future OL station will be above the west end of the loop and all buses using the loop will enter from Gervais Drive.

The 25/925 Don Mills and 403 South Don Mills community buses will not use the loop, but will instead use the on street stops on the south side of Eglinton. Passengers will enter via the station entrance on the southwest corner, and this means that transfers to/from northbound service will have to cross Don Mills.

Similarly, transfers between routes using the loop (54/954 Lawrence East, 72 Pape, 100 Flemingdon Park, 162 Lawrence-Donway, 191 Underhill) and the Don Mills services will require riders to navigate to the stops south of Eglinton.

Corrected February 7 at 2:05pm

Stops on the north side of this intersection will be used by the 354 Lawrence East night bus service. Stops on Eglinton will be used by the 34/334 Eglinton services.

Easier Access Changes

The 31 Greenwood bus will switch back to Greenwood Station from Coxwell Station where it was diverted for elevator construction. At the south end of the route, buses will now use Woodbine Loop as their terminus rather than an on-street loop via Queen.

Updated: The TTC has announced that construction at Greenwood Station will not clear the bus loop until February 13. Buses will continue to loop at Coxwell Station in the interim.

The 149 Etobicoke-Bloor shuttle which provides accessibility to the portion of Line 2 that does not yet have elevators will be shortened to terminate at Jane Station because High Park Station is now accessible.

Other Route Changes

  • 6 Finch: Scheduled travel time reduced and reallocated to recovery time. No change in service levels. Operator step backs will be implemented at Finch West and Humber College Stations to improve operations.
  • 7 Bathurst Bus: Schedules will be changed in several periods to improve reliability, but there will be no change in the 10-minute all day service.
  • 307 Bathurst Night Bus: Some trips will operate with articulated buses.

Midday service goes from every 9’30” to 10’00”, and PM peak from every 9’00” to 10’00”. 507 service will be adjusted to minimize duplication of 501 service during the transition period when 501 Queen extends to Long Branch Loop in the mid-evening.
  • 506 Carlton: Saturday service will be reduced to match demand. Afternoon service goes from 8’00” to 10’00”. Early evening service goes from 9’00” to 10’00”.

School Trips

  • 32 Eglinton West: Trips from Michael Power — St Joseph High School will operate to Mount Dennis Station instead of Cedarvale Station. Further, school trips operating from Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School will be removed as students can use Line 5 Eglinton at Avenue Station.
  • 51 Leslie: Trips serving Zion Heights Junior High School are removed to reallocate resources.
  • 56 Leaside: Trips serving Leaside High School will be replaced by service on Line 5 Eglinton.
  • 61 Avenue Road North: A new trip will provide added service to Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School. This trip will leave Wilson Ave. & Avenue Rd. SB at 7:46 a.m., arriving at Avenue Rd. at Roselawn Ave. at 8:00 a.m.
  • 76 Royal York South: School trips servicing Bishop Allen Academy Catholic Secondary School will be aligned with corresponding regular service on 76 Royal York South.
  • 91 Woodbine: Trips serving Milne Valley Middle School and Senator O’Connor High School will be added to for student demand between Underhill Dr. at Cassanda Blvd. and Woodbine Station, and to reduce the number of transfers required for students who reside south of Lawrence Ave E.
    • Two northbound trips are added in the AM peak from Woodbine Station at 8:04 and 8:14am. These trips will extend north of Lawrence Ave. E. via Underhil.l Dr, operating in service to Silverdale Crescent at York Mills Rd. These trips will operate from Woodbine Station via the 91C Woodbine routing as used before it was partly replaced by 191 Underhill.
    • Existing southbound trips in the PM peak depart from Cassandra Blvd. at Underhill Dr. at 3:10 and 3:15pm. These will run to Woodbine Station via the 91 Woodbine school trip routing as previously scheduled south of Lawrence Ave E.
  • 830 Henry Kelsey-Middlefield: School trips formerly provided by 130 Middlefield will now operate with their own route number 830. Trips will operate from Middlefield Loop at 8:25 a.m. and from Henry Kelsey Senior Public School at 3:15 p.m. This change is part of “a new school trip wayfinding initiative”.

Downtown Premium Express Bus Routes

These routes were to be dropped as part of the 2024 Annual Network Plan. Destination signs for them will be removed from buses. Now if only the TTC would remove the unused stops that riders still occasionally wait at.

  1. So will the 25 Don Mills during that change will remain split at Don Mills station that has been since January 2017 due to line 5 construction or will that route be united into one route like it was before 2017? If they still keep the split, the TTC should instead operate the 25 Don Mills only from Steeles to Don Valley station as most people would get off at that station and those who travel south can use the already frequent 100 Flemingdon Park, 72c Pape, and 925 Don Mills Express.

Steve: The route structure of 25 Don Mills is not changed.

  2. Interesting. Is the 800 series being prepped for school specials?

Steve: It is also used for things like the Finch and Eglinton shuttles in the period between the early shutdown and the night buses. A generic use for special services, I think.

  3. Hi Steve, thanks for this! I see two things on the map that caught my interest.

    1) The 71 appears to serve Mount Dennis Station after the Industry Street loop. This is a huge inconvenience for anyone coming from the south to Line 5. I assumed that the buses would detour into Mount Dennis both before and after the loop.

I thought TTC’s arrangement here was silly: have the 71 end at Mount Dennis, have one route for Industry St, and one for Humber Blvd. Instead we have one route doing both Industry and Humber, and one route doing just Industry but missing Mount Dennis in one direction.

    2) The 31 being cut back suggests the elevators at Greenwood are done. Are they open yet? There is no mention on the project’s webpage but they full well could be.

Steve: I think Greenwood is a case of the construction reaching a point it no longer blocks the bus loop.

  4. Thank you Steve for the changes. I wonder if there will be some route assignments in their home divisions?

Steve: When the detailed memo comes out from the TTC I will see the division changes, if any.

  5. Noticed that the 901 Airport Eglinton Express from Mount Dennis to Pearson that was initially part of the 2026 Annual Network Plan is not included in the new bus routes. Is there any chance it will be implemented in the future?

Steve: If it’s in the 2026 plan, it would likely not be implemented until the fall. That’s the usual pattern for ASP changes, if they are implemented at all.

  6. When I lived in Don Mills the 54 was my regular bus. But it now looks like you can’t take the 54 from anywhere east to get to Edwards Gardens/Wilket Creek park anymore. So if you want to get to EG you have to get off at Don Mills and wait for the 162?

    Steve: Yes.

  7. For the 149 Etobicoke-Bloor, would the service be reinstated between Jane and High Park, if the elevators go out-of-service due to maintenance or mischief?

    Steve: Of course not.

  9. I wonder… in response to shentron… if Don Valley station bus terminal exit onto Don Mills is even finished yet because if you look at the GTFS data it shows all the routes exiting via Gervais and Wynford. It also shows the 72C as being in the “temporary bus terminal”

I know I haven’t been through there lately but a glance at google street view does show an exit available onto Don Mills.

I also maybe thought the 34 would loop off Eglinton and go through the bus terminal.

Maybe that is part of why 25 and 925 isn’t going in yet? But I do see a split at Line 5 could also make sense as Broadview Station (which I have been in) is cramped as it is.

The split at Don Mills, does make some sense still if demand isn’t as high north of Line 4. (Referencing 51 Leslie and 151 Leslie North)

I also thought the 901 was part of the Line 5 network plan not the 2026 plan? But maybe like the 25/925 it’ll still be implemented in the future.

    My thoughts anyways.

I missed this Steve but happy 20th anniversary!

Steve: Thanks. Which version of the GTFS schedules are you looking at? The February version shows a different stop pattern than January’s.

  10. Hey Steve, is there going to 891 for the school trips on Woodbine, for the Eglinton via sunrise.

Steve: The only 800-series routes are 805, 806 and 830.

  11. Re my comment. February (sorry it was 191, not 72C but if you look it shows the pattern going out Gervais and Wynford on any of the routes leaving Don Valley station. (191, 72, 54, 100).

Steve: The order of stops for northbound trips on the 191 is:

    Don Valley Station
Wynford Dr at Don Mills Rd [e.g. westbound on Wynford]
Don Mills Rd at Green Belt Dr North Side

That shows a departure from the east side of the station. The maps included in the article also show that buses run from the east into Don Valley Station. The traffic congestion on Wynford and Gervais is going to be challenging.

  12. So, will 34 and 34a still stop at sinnot road ? If not which bus will take passengers from there to and fro Eglinton station?

Steve: Yes the 34 will stop at Sinnott Road, but it will only come every 20 minutes. The nearest 5 Eglinton stop is at Birchmount.

  14. What are the off-peak headways for the new 51 route? 12 minute headways sounds great but I’m assuming that’s only during peak hours.

Steve: The headways are 12-13 minutes for most of the day except late evening to provide more frequent service south of Lawrence. The headway north of Lawrence to Leslie Station is twice as long because alternate buses run east to The Donway as 51B.

  15. You will probably delete this comment because it might not be necessary to add these things you have missed, but you never mentioned that there will be 2 northbound 91C Woodbine school trips that will be ran by Malvern, departing Woodbine Station at 8:06 AM and 8:14 AM, first trip does the 85A/B Sheppard East after, and the second one does the 102A Markham Road after. And about the section for the routes that were changed or added in October, you’ve missed the 191 Underhill.

Steve: As I said in the article, I have been culling information from various places but without benefit of the detailed service memo. I am quite sure that TTC Comms missed things when they set up the web pages. They face the same challenge as I do getting the info at the last minute even though they’re “internal”. I have added the 191 to the October changes list. The 91C school trips are not mentioned on the service changes web page, but would show up in the memo when it comes out.

  16. Can’t wait to see the final schedules once they are posted, but this has been a long time coming. I really hope the opening goes off smoothly. Smart to run the 989 via Black Creek Drive both ways to save a few minutes.

I was a bit surprised by the 71 only visiting Mount Dennis southbound, but with the exception of those with mobility concerns, the bus stop on Weston at Eglinton is right across from one of the station entrances, so the walk to the Line 5 platform shouldn’t be that much further than the walk from the bus terminal. All of the buses running west or north stop at that corner, and connecting to buses going east can still be done by either transferring, walking, or just staying around the Industry St loop.

  17. I can sense that the long detour into Mount Dennis Station will really displease many riders, especially for the 89 Weston. Someone taking it from Lawrence to the Stockyards for a shopping trip would have to endure up to 11 minute detour each way. That is the GTFS scheduled time which can be even longer with rush hour traffic as The Crosstown West construction is ongoing. That’s two extra buses needed to be added to the route for this. One can probably just get off, walk across Eglinton to catch the next bus in front.

The turn into Keelesdale Rd isn’t fast either. There is a right turn on red restriction forcing buses to wait a while. Having many routes feed into this tiny road would for sure create a lot of congestion on top of the No Frills shopper traffic.

The 89 would have to make a left either from Weston or to Weston depending on direction. This is a lot worse than the current 32D arrangement plus that is a temporary measure. I would expect many riders to just get off at Weston/Eglinton and walk into the station than wait for that 4 minute ride to the bus terminal and still have to walk a length way to the platform.

We’ll see how the public reacts to this.

  18. Do you know if the 830 will use RAD crews?

Steve: I doubt it. School trips have to be crewed every day, and the only difference with the 830 is that it has its own route number. There are many other school trips all over the system.

  19. Thanks, Steve.

I’m no expert but the 334 was already quite long. I’m wondering why they combined it.

And also, why doesn’t the 158 run along Dennison Rd to Weston Rd?

Steve: The 334 has two branches – 334A from the Airport to Kennedy, and 334B from Mount Dennis to Malvern. This allows for a combined service in the overlap area, and gets rid of transfers between 332/334 at Yonge Street.

As for the 158, the existing route runs north via Jane to Lawrence, and the 158 preserves this. There might also be issues with the width of Dennison and that parking is allowed in the portion from Jane west to the underpass.

  20. Do we have any more news about the 901 Airport-Eglinton express?

Page 25 of the 2026 ANP listed it as a “pending route change” originally from the 2024 ANP. The 2026 ANP also listed 3 other pending route changes related to the opening of Line 5 (on routes 73, 191, 334). All of these other route changes will be, as far as I can tell, implemented by Feb 8. It’s just the 901 that seems to be missing from the Feb service changes.

Steve: No news on the 901.

Sooo … fixating on streetcars as I do … re: those service reductions for the Queen car … assuming TTC managed headways (LOL) … would people other than followers of this blog really notice the extra 30 s between cars? Not trying to justify it, simply curious. And I’m aware that if you can reduce the number of trips to cover the timetable, you save real money.

  24. So 25 Don mills buses cannot serve the Don valley station because of the Ontario line construction blocking the bus access from Don mills road?

Steve: Yes. I am planning to add info about stop changes for various routes in the next update. Here is the description of how 25 Don Mills will work:

Customer pick-up and drop-offs will be facilitated at on-street stops on Don Mills Rd at Eglinton Ave East South Side – Don Valley Station (Stop ID #9126) and Don Mills Rd at Eglinton Ave East – Don Valley Station (Stop ID #15731) due to ongoing Ontario Line construction within Don Valley Station bus terminal. With this change, stops Don Mills Rd at Eglinton Ave North Side (Stop ID #9125) and Don Mills Rd at Eglinton Ave East (Stop ID #14258) will be removed from service.

  25. So Queen St, west of downtown (where there is no additional 503 service) will be a “never a streetcar in sight” route?

I guess if you never service the demand, the demand will go away.

Steve: Going back decades to the introduction of ALRVs and widening of headways on Queen, TTC has driven away demand. The Ontario Line diversion is icing on the cake.

The allocations for bays 6 and 7 are reversed between the actual map and the bus bay allocation description below.

Steve: You’re welcome! The maps are all from the TTC.

Also, on the TTC’s Blue night Network map (and the system map insert) on ttc.ca , it shows incorrectly that the 354 terminates at Don Mills and Eglinton whereas it (still) goes over to Yonge Street (albeit via Don Mills now instead of Leslie).

Steve: The 354 has another problem at Don Mills and Eglinton in that it appears to use stops north of the intersection while the 325 now uses the regular stops on the south side. Obviously the 354 can’t use those.

  30. Unfortunately the 31 Greenwood was not restored to its original route at the last minute.

Steve: Yes, the TTC has announced a delay to February 13.

  31. One change that happened to today that happened that isn’t mentioned here is that some runs on the 35 are now scheduled to be articulated buses. There was a few running even today. A much appreciated change.

Steve: There was no reference to this in the service memo.

  32. Don Valley Station is not a fully accessible station.

Metrolinx posted the following notice inside the station:

“Barrier-free access to the Don Valley Bus Terminal is temporarily closed due to Ontario Line construction. To reach the bus terminal on a barrier-free path, turn around and follow the signs directing you to Eglinton Avenue East. Follow signs on street and continue to the bus terminal or take the 72 bus to Don Valley which will stop at the terminal.”

There is no information about this closure on TTC.ca.

Passengers who require the elevator are in for an unwelcome surprise.

Steve: Yes, the OL construction also forces connections with buses on Don Mills to be on street transfers rather than inside the bus loop as the western access to the loop is blocked for construction of the future elevated OL station in the east side of Don Mills north of Eglinton.

  33. Hey Steve do you know what division the 51 and 34 are?

Steve: All of the divisional allocations are on the spreadsheet.

  34. As a rail fan, I rode the new Line 5 Eglinton-Crosswown LRT on opening
day yesterday. A “cross” between subway (metro) and streetcar (tram). Overall, a solid pass grade, I liked it. [An explanation for non-transit folk, LRT means Light Rail Transit, LRV = Light Rail Vehicle.] I was impressed by the quick time it made from end-to-end, about 45 minutes. I will be using this line in the future.

A few issues. In the east beyond Laird, where it is in open traffic, the traffic signals give priority to cars. This was noted by several co-passengers. Also, at outdoor stops, benches to sit on were covered in salt. A humourous note, the operator announced that it was unnecessary to push the stop request button because the “train” stops at all stations. Yet, the stop request was always asked for. Technically, it is a train because two cars are coupled together.

Another issue is not the fault of the LRT itself or its operators, but by government planners. By law, the LRT has standards for handicapped access. In particular, a limit on the slope of the transit stop with regard to wheelchairs. There is an intersection with heavy use by seniors, Credit Union /Swift, which lies in the middle of two stops approximately two kilometers apart, Wynford and Bermondsey. I am one of those peeved-off seniors. They were about to put a stop there until it was realised that the slope would be too much for govt wheelchair use standards. But, to rebuild the corner, they said it would cost about $10-50 million or more. So, as I am watching the track, I noticed that the uphill at Credit Union is immediately followed by a downhill. Eglinton Avenue is like that, it undulates, up and down all over the place. A simple cheap solution would have been to shave down and level the streetscape, it was totally rebuilt anyway. So, what are we seniors supposed to do? Walk one kilometre in snow, rain, or summer heat? Cannot I control my wheelchair (when I use one) that it does roll away, since the slope is minor, duh? Wait for a bus for the final distance? Idiots!!! Probably the same idiots, as mentioned by other rail fans, that the track gauge is freight rail gauge, not streetcar gauge. It assumes that the streetcar is more likely to travel on a freight track than on a streetcar track! (Historically, many cities used the same gauge for both streetcars and freight rails, Toronto was different.)

Steve: The gauge is immaterial. Metrolinx changed the TC lines from the originally planned TTC gauge to standard gauge to placate car builders other than Bombardier as it then was who were perceived to have an unfair advantage from having built the downtown streetcars. This was bogus and ironically Alstom now owns Bombardier anyhow.

  35. Is Monday night’s 501 diversion via Broadview/Gerrard/Coxwell a scheduled change?

The last time this happened a few weeks ago it was due to watermain construction at Leslie over about a week.

There are no service alerts, nothing under service changes, service advisories, or construction notices for tonight’s activity.

  36. What is the travel time change on Line 6 (you said travel time is reduced and transferred to terminal recovery time)?
Thank you for all your work!

Steve: It’s in the spreadsheet. Old schedule was 92 minutes travel plus 6 minutes recovery round trip. New schedule is 88 travel, 10 recovery during some periods, 86+12 others. Still 98 minutes total.

    You’re welcome!

  37. We need someone to guide us to where Line 5 station is once we get to Mount Dennis Station. Total confusion Tuesday morning, even the bus driver couldn’t help us. We used to have direct service from Emmett Ave to beyond Black Creek. This is something you could improve upon. We miss badly our 32D service. Not everyone wants the subway which had no one to direct us to the correct platform anyway. Thanks.

Steve: I’m not the TTC, but I know many of their staff read this blog. There is an issue at large, deep stations where finding your way can be a challenge, and connections between routes are not short.

  38. At the Mount Dennis Station bus bays, they have outdoor small displays next to the bus bays. However, in the cold weather there are no indoor right angle bus displays next to the doors to the bus bays. Also small informational bus displays next to the doors that people can miss as they walk by, unless they have good vision.

Now, who do we complain about that? TTC, Metrolinx, ward councillor, riding MPP, Premier Doug Ford? Or do we have to do a political donation, for an offer he can’t refuse?

Steve: I saw the same problem at Don Valley. Metrolinx loves to crow that they have design standards, but if these are examples, the standards are total crap.

  39. Thanks as always for this, Steve. Any idea as to why the 164 runs to Mt. Dennis via Keelesdale Station, rather than turning back at Keelesdale?

Steve: Before Keelesdale Station was open, the TTC might have preferred to terminate the route at a station with room for layovers and washroom facilities for operators. There is a spare bay at Keelesdale the 164 could use, but Mount Dennis appears to be its permanent terminus.

And for anyone from the TTC who might be reading this, there isn’t a page for the 27 Jane South on the TTC bus page as of AM Feb 11.

Steve: Which page do you mean? There is certainly a route and schedule page for route 27.
