On May 30, 1980, a flotilla of Tall Ships visited Boston Harbour in celebration of the city’s 350th anniversary. Thanks to a friend who worked for a local government agency, I had a pass to watch the event from the Flight Deck of the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy.
