With the completion of water main and track work at Bathurst & Lake Shore, various routes will return to their standard configuration:
- 509 Harbourfront will operate from Union Station to Exhibition Loop.
- 510 Spadina will operate from Spadina Station to Union with half of the service turning back at Queens Quay Loop.
- 511 Bathurst will shift from its temporary terminus at Charlotte Loop to serve Exhibition Loop.
See the spreadsheet linked below for service design details on affected routes.
[The original version of this file still had the May 2025 date in its heading, but the information was for June. This has been fixed.]
Some routes will be adjusted so that day and night services blend properly in the late evening and early morning.
- 501/301 Queen and 507 Long Branch
- 505/305 Dundas
- 15/315 Evans, 123 Sherway
The modified diversion for track work at King and Church with buses operating via Jarvis, Front/Wellington and Yonge will be officially in the schedule. It was actually implemented on June 2 because of a change in the City’s project plans.

New Routes:
- 203 High Park from High Park Station to Colborne Lodge, weekends daytime only, every 20 minutes.
- 406 Scarborough Guildwood is a new Community Bus that will operate every 60 minutes during the midday and afternoon peak periods (9:30am – 6:00pm) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Bus bay allocations will change at Main Street and Scarborough Centre Stations.

Route 600 Run as Directed (RAD) Buses
Note that most of the RAD buses are in the evening when there are more spare vehicles.

Streetcar Daytime and Night Time Route Maps

Construction Project List

Budgeted and Scheduled Vehicle Hours
Note that the budgeted hours of service in September is only slightly higher than in January, although year-to-date schedules have run at a higher level than planned.
No change is provided for budgeted hours from the current June change until the fall schedules in September. As I write this on June 17, there is no word on an opening date for either Line 5 Crosstown or 6 Finch West and associated route changes.

Fleet Summaries and Carhouse Allocations
The TTC’s bus and streetcar fleets continue to be considerably larger than a 20% spare factor (1 spare bus/streetcar for every 5 scheduled) due to budget and staffing limitations.

eBus Compatibility
A new table has been added to the Board Period service memo showing the breakdown of blocks in existing schedules that are suitable for eBus operation. Note the relatively low number on weekends because there are no peak periods to create shorter blocks. As the size of the eBus fleet grows, schedule changes will be required to provide for change-offs due to range limitations, or this problem will have to be addressed with charging facilities at terminals.

I think you gave us the May 11 service memo, not the June 22 memo. Can you please fix it if you can? Thank you.
Oh sorry actually the memo is right but the header of the memo says May 11 2025. See if you can fix that.
Steve: Fixed. Thanks for catching that.

Thanks as always for this, Steve. So, the 203 won’t be running WheelTrans vehicles this summer?
Steve: No. It’s a regular bus route.

Steve, it’s now official.
The “508 Lake Shore” streetcar will be temporarily suspended for the summer.
The entire “509 Harbourfront” route will be restored and return to streetcar operation between Union Station and the Exhibition Loop. The “509B Harbourfront” shuttle bus operation will end June 21.
The south end of the “511 Bathurst” route will return to streetcar operation, with the entire route operating with streetcars between Bathurst Station and the Exhibition loop. The “511B Bathurst” shuttle bus operation will end June 21.
What will happen to the shuttle buses after the above routes are done with them – redeployment to “504 King” route or use as extras?
Steve: With all of the summer cuts, they will just become spares.

Steve, do you know whats happening with the 78 St. Andrew extension to Bayview Stn?
This was approved and supposed to happen years ago…
Steve: I have asked TTC Planning to include the status of already approved changes (coming soon, dropped, etc) in the 2026 Network Plan (formerly called the Service Plan) which is coming out imminently. This will allow people to see what’s in the pipeline, especially a recap of the Line 5 and 6 changes, so that comments can focus on what’s net new.

Steve – a side note/comment. You mentioned that the 2026 Annual Network Plan is being worked on. I took a look at the TTC site and while they said that they are reviewing services across the city, they are focusing on 4 specific areas. Do you have any insight on why these areas were targeted?
Steve: No info yet. I am waiting for the first round of consultation in early July.

Would you consider writing an article about how & why some major bus #s follow weird routes? The one I’m thinking of is Islington South, but I know I’ve come across others over the years.
I’m sure there’s reasons, but as a rider it’s very opaque. You’re really good at bridging the gap between laypeople and TTC logic!
Thanks for all that you do!
Steve: You’re welcome! There are detailed route histories on the Transit Toronto website. 110 Islington South has its own article.

Hey, Steve. It’s me again I was just wondering on June 6, there was an Orion on the 62 is that a Run as directed? And do you know when they will be doing that next?
Steve: Looking at the tracking data, it behaved like a RAD in the morning doing only half a trip on the 62. In the afternoon it did a few scheduled trips on 924 Vic Park express. When next? Who knows.
