Lakeshore looking W at Coxwell
This view looks west on Lake Shore from the east side of Coxwell. The road to the left of the photo leads into the park area, and the sidewalk on the far corner is actually the continuation of the bike path from Lake Shore around and southeast into the park. Note that there are turn lanes for both east-to-north and east-to-park moves. There is also a merge lane for south-to-west turning traffic. Insertion of a two-track right-of-way for streetcars would affect intersection operations.
This is an area of intense pedestrian activity when there are special events at the park. Conflicts with streetcar operations are certain.
